Prometheus Private Tutoring is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team John and Myles Sandoval. What started as a team effort to succeed in the most challenging college courses grew into a thriving business built around personalizing education to meet the needs of high school and college students in the Dallas area. Beyond teaching specific subjects, John and Myles troubleshoot students’ approaches to learning and test-taking in order to remove roadblocks and establish positive scholastic habits now into the future.
John has been tutoring for over six years and specializes in teaching math and science including chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. Much of this experience consists of accommodating the unique needs of learners with ADD/ADHD, autism-spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and post-concussive syndrome. He has a B.S. in Chemistry and currently works as a data analyst in Dallas.
Myles (still getting used to “Dr. Sandoval”) has been tutoring for over two years and specializes in teaching math and life sciences including biology, anatomy and physiology, algebra, geometry, and statistics. Additionally, she has worked with special needs kids and young adults for eight years and understands the unique needs of learners with ADD/ADHD, autism-spectrum disorders, Down Syndrome, dyslexia, and post-concussive syndrome. She has a B.S. in Neuroscience and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy which have led her to work in the transplant industry in service of those needing life-saving and life-enhancing grafts.
Outside of work, both John and Myles love seeing new places, meeting new people, and — perhaps most of all — learning new things.
